Academically Most Able
At The Eastwood Academy, we recognise and nurture the talents of all our pupils, including those who show particular strengths in academic thinking and creativity. This page outlines some of the traits commonly seen in Able and Most Able learners, helping parents and pupils to better understand how these characteristics may present in the classroom. Our aim is to support every pupil in reaching their full potential through appropriate challenge, enrichment, and encouragement.

The Brilliant Club
The Eastwood Scholars Programme is an academic programme run jointly by The Eastwood Academy and The Brilliant Club, an organisation which aims to widen access to university.
In 2023, twelve Year 10 pupils took part in the Brilliant Club. The programme allowed them to challenge themselves by writing a 2,000-word dissertation, graded using A-Level criteria, as well as giving them a taste of university life.
All but one pupil passed with flying colours and it’s hopefully given them a valuable insight into Further and Higher Education.
