Revision
At Eastwood Academy, we believe that successful exam preparation begins long before pupils sit their final examinations in Year 11. As pupils move through the school, they are explicitly taught key skills in self-regulation, time management, and revision planning to help them become independent and effective learners. Through assemblies, tutor time, drop down sessions, and dedicated PDE sessions, pupils learn how to create structured revision timetables, set realistic goals, and use evidence-based strategies such as retrieval practice, spaced repetition, and active recall. We also provide practical exam tips - like how to approach different question types, manage exam time, and stay calm under pressure.
We recognise and acknowledge that revision can be, at times, be stressful. As a result we offer a range of support including mentoring, wellbeing resources, and guidance on managing anxiety. This section is designed to equip every pupil with the tools and confidence they need to revise effectively, perform well, and thrive during exam periods.
