GCSE Exams and Vocational Qualifications
At the end of Year 11, pupils work towards a range of academic and vocational qualifications that can shape their future educational and career decisions.
The main examination boards—AQA, Edexcel (Pearson), OCR, and WJEC Eduqas—offer a variety of GCSE and vocational courses, each with specific subject codes and assessment criteria.
GCSEs are now graded on a 9–1 scale, with 9 being the highest, while vocational qualifications such as BTEC Tech Awards and Cambridge Nationals use a tiered system of Level 1 and Level 2 Pass, Merit, Distinction, and Distinction*
