Remote Learning
While remote learning is expected to be a rare occurrence, Eastwood Academy is fully prepared to support pupils in the event of a prolonged school closure. This may be due to exceptional circumstances such as severe weather, public health concerns, or other unforeseen disruptions.
In such cases, pupils will continue their education from home using their Office 365 account, which provides access to a full suite of learning tools, including Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Outlook, and Word/PowerPoint/Excel Online. These tools allow pupils to stay connected, access resources, and complete assignments from any device with internet access.
During a period of remote learning:
- Pupils will usually be expected to follow their normal school timetable via Microsoft Teams.
- Teachers will deliver live lessons or set structured work through Teams, ensuring continuity of learning.
- All lesson materials, assignments, and feedback will be accessible through the relevant Teams channels.
- Pastoral support will remain available via email, ensuring pupils continue to feel supported both academically and emotionally.
Our aim is to ensure that every pupil remains engaged, supported, and on track with their learning, even when learning remotely.
